With the guidance of experienced local herpetologists and field photographers, you’ll embark on night walks through pristine forest trails, riversides, and humid valleys, searching for frogs, snakes, lizards, and countless other secretive creatures that come alive under the rainforest’s moonlight.

This immersive experience focuses on responsible photography and ethical field observation, ensuring minimal disturbance while allowing for incredible photographic opportunities of rare and colorful species.

 Target Species

The Atlantic Forest is home to an incredible diversity of herpetofauna — from tiny glass frogs to large arboreal snakes.
Here are just a few of the species you may encounter and photograph during the tour:

• Gastrotheca albolineata – a remarkable marsupial frog that carries its eggs on its back.

• Boana spp. – tree frogs of many shapes and colors, often found near streams and forest ponds.

• Chironius spp. – elegant, fast-moving arboreal snakes often active at dusk.

• Bothrops jararacussu – an impressive pit viper, powerful yet calm when approached respectfully.
